Houshmand Ebadi is an Iranian Ney player living in Tehran. He started learning music when he was 7 years old. He learned Ney playing with Reza Djamshidian and later, with Abdolnaqi Afsharinia. The turning point of his professional life was meeting with Mohammad Reza Lotfi when he did his first official concert under his direction, with Sheyda Ensemble and continued playing with him until he passed over. Hoshmand Ebadi masters all technics of Ney and has a deep knowledge of the Iranian classical music, but what makes him an original artiste is his capacity of making improvisations while interpreting sophisticated repertoires.
